Week 16: High, Low, Buffalo
4/12/2026 - 4/18/2026
High
- Felt especially connected to friends back home on the East coast with Marco Polo. It's a video chat app that makes communication asynchronous, which really helps given the time difference and keeps things flexible when life gets hectic.
- My husband made a really delicious shrimp pomodoro bucatini pasta for dinner on Wednesday. I'm really grateful that he enjoys cooking for us, and truly feel that I have a partner in life.
- I took on a different form of morning pages to start my day βΒ it's still serves as a brain dump, stream of consciousness to gain mental clarity, but I've switched to bullet points instead of long-form writing. I also prioritized getting it done before I engage in any screen time, especially before work. It's helped so much with work anxiety and I feel more prepared for the day ahead of me.
Low
- I procrastinated keeping up with my budgets and account balances, which caused me to spend more than I wanted to. My relationship with money has come a long way, so I recognized the procrastination was me falling back into old, avoidant behaviors. Action kills anxiety, and grounding myself in the fact that I am safe and have what I need to survive helped me get things back on course.
Buffalo
- I've been dealing with my new and unfamiliar health challenges late into the week, which I don't feel ready to put into words. The days are getting better, and I'm finding the grace to be kind to myself and take it day by day. What matters is that I'm safe and recovering well, but still very much in the thick of it!
